Hello everyone, wassup! New Year is here and so is winter season at its peak. Snuggling in my bed as I type this with hot chocolate by the bedside, this is my favourite place tbh *evil laugh*… But I wish I could have the audacity to stay like this and tell…wake me up when winter is over and still earn without going to work. Argghh, that ain’t happening and so, coming back from the dream to this reality, the daily struggle of getting out of the bed and walking into the shower is so Real, let alone the days when we have to wash our hair…right, girls? Well, this post will help you get some easy hacks in maintaining the shine of hair even when you haven’t washed them for few days. Whether it’s an impromptu plan or simple laziness, these quick fixes are handy:-

1. Dry Shampoo is A Saviour

I can’t even stress on the fact that a dry shampoo is a life saviour and truly gets life back to your dull and boring hair. No matter how oily your hair has become from the last time you washed them, a dry shampoo is by far the most effective ways to fix and get rid of greasy hair. Spray it onto the sections of your hair from a distance of at least 6 inches. Massage it properly like you massage oil in your hair so that it penetrates well and Voila you’re done.

But to warn you girls, you don’t want to use it on a regular basis because anything done in excess is too bad especially when it’s an artificial way to wash the hair. Make it your best friend only for those last minute plans.

2. Talcum Powder To The Rescue

Another last-minute quick fix is to pour some baby powder into the scalp. Massage and dust the excess off your hair. Shake them upside down and it’s done.

3. Just Change Your Partition

Sounds bizarre but can be too good to be true. Yes! If you usually make the left side partition, switch it to the right and vice versa. In fact, the mid parting does a great job too.

4. Do Not Use Hands On Your Hair

This one we often do and the reason why our hair keeps on becoming more oily is that if we keep moving our hands inside, it would produce more oil and hence make them even more greasy.

5. Side Hair Pouf or A Side Pony Tail Does A Great Job Too

Another great way to deal with greasy hair is to give an illusion of fluffiness which can happen by making a side pouffe or even a side ponytail. Why the side look basically because when all the hair is gathered at one side, it appears lesser greasy than usual.

6. Tease The Roots Of Your Hair- Make A top Knot Bun Or High PonyTail

I don’t know how many of you would agree but the greasy hair looks more nicely done when they are tied in a high ponytail or into a topknot bun- even if it’s a messy one, instead of leaving them open. So take the front sections of your hair and tease the roots for a puffy look and go ahead with making a nice high ponytail or bun. Chic, enough!

7. French Braids

If you know of anyone who can make nice french braided hair or if you on your own can successfully make this hairdo, there is nothing else you need more than the natural oil of hair to set them in place and nail the look.

So this is it for the post guys. Do let me know in the comments section below, what are the quick fixes that come to your rescue when you have greasy hair? So, until next time,

Xoxo,

  1. I use the Elvive thickening shampoo after I read some comments on Sali Hughes column about it being too drying for some people! I have thick hair already so can’t comment on that aspect but my hair is much less oily and easier to manage.

  3. There are different types of masks, so if you have blemish prone oily skin areas, you may want to try a medicated mask. If not, you can use a basic mask to help soak up excess oil.
