Here Is What I Do To Uplift My Mood Instantly And Why You Should Do It Too Posted on August 19, 20181 Comment

My mood from the past few days has been as fluctuating as the stock prices and I kid you not, I have literally discovered or can say, mastered the art of uplifting it instantly with a few ways. As I have always said, I am not a lifestyle “guru” but I genuinely notice certain common issues surrounding me, the reason why something may have affected my mood and then working on it. So, I find it pleasurable to share it here through the blog and maybe, you too can find them helpful or even if you know these already, I bet you would get reminded of these again and follow them because hey, we all need some sort of remindings, don’t we? Why do you think we put our alarms daily?

Let me cut to the chase because you definitely aren’t here to read me blabbering random incidents about my life or are you? Drop me a DM on Instagram and maybe you and I can go on and on! So, here are my most favorite and convenient ways to instantly uplift my mood which I am sure would be helpful to you too:-

  1. Listen To Songs (Which One’s?- Read The Text Below, I know you were thinking to only read the headings) #CaughtYou

I am a 90s kid and so my playlist lately has been filled with the 90s song. From Govinda’s “Kisi disco me jaaye”, Sridevi’s “ooeee baba ba ra ba” to Madhuri Dixit’s “akhiyaa milaoon”, I have been so obsessed with the songs from 90s that they are what I begin my mornings with. Straight from the shower to getting ready or even while commuting, these songs amp up my energy to another level and believe me or not, they give you a sense of nostalgia as they take you back to those beautiful memories of childhood that are associated with them. (For eg, I remember dancing to “akhiya tu mila na raja aaye hai din bahar ke…. Mr. Lova Lova, aaeee ooo” when I was a kid)

2. Write It Down (No, Not Your Feelings- they are bad feelings and will make you feel even worse but instead write down…)

This one’s a little tricky. But read it out carefully. It was a task I learned from my favorite book “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne. So this task states that one must pick that one negative thing happening in their life (the one that’s the reason behind your bad mood) and try and think deeply. Now state ten, yes, ten positive things in that negative situation. I have tried this and it does make feel better a lot than before. I know you might thing it’s a mad trick as how can one feel positive in a negative situation but you need to only think beyond your ability. And if you think, this can be the strongest thing to do in life.

3. Eat A Dessert (Unless You Are A Diabetic and specifically prescribed by Doctor)

This can be a weird one on the list but trust me there is some connection. You know how “stressed”, when spelled backward, is “desserts”, that is exactly the feeling one gets after eating a big scoop of ice cream or a chocolate, cookie, pastry. Yes, guys, there is science behind this fact.

4. Cook (Come On, Even if you don’t know how to cook,)

Learn… as there are a lot of Youtube Tutorials that show you even the simplest of recipes. But wait… what do you mean you don’t know how to cook? You’ve got to be independent, don’t we all need to be? Cooking indeed makes one forget their trouble and the taste of your own cooked food is impeccable and incomparable.

5. Watch A Web Series

Ohh this is my favorite one. I have in fact done a blog post on this, listing a few amazing recommendations. Web series are the short internet stories that are more real, relatable and can make your time pass making you feel more lively than before.

6. Workout

The last on my list is the one I have been the laziest in doing since forever but has actually proven to be extremely effective. I like dancing (which again is a great exercise for the body), a few yoga aasan and a few legs and abs exercise which I saw on Youtube. Yes, this makes me more energetic and a lot better than before.
