Hey all you lovely people, welcome to my blog! The weekend is almost here and it’s a long weekend for most of us due to Guru Nanak’s Birthday tomorrow. And if you haven’t yet sorted any plans for the weekend, then here is a great idea for you to take an off from the city life, drive through the S.G. highway to this newly opened cafe in the outskirts of Ahmedabad in Infocity, Gandhinagar. We all know the famous brand Mocha that has continued to be a favourite for three years now. The first outlet opened in Bodakdev, Ahmedabad around October-November, 2015 and the second one at C.G. Road opened just about a year ago. With it’s gaining popularity and our love for this brand “Mocha”, they have finally opened a new outlet in Gandhinagar which is bigger and better in every tone.
As you enter the property, it has a big lawn with a playground area, a few swings and rides for us all (kids at heart). Then as you enter the cafe, the bright orange walls and it’s wooden furniture is what becomes your first attraction. It indeed gives a very soothing effect. A few steps towards the inside guide you to the outdoor seating on the left which will make you feel mesmerised. Have a look at the ambience-
Isn’t that all quite picturesque enough? Can’t resist taking a few instagrammable pictures, now can you?
Coming to food, I went for a Sunday brunch here last week, so be ready to be extremely tempted by the food pictures that will come your way, one by one #justsaying
For the drinks, we ordered-
- Country Lemonade
- Lindt Hot Chocolate
- Mocha Shake
- Nilgiri Coffee
- Black Forest Shake
Quite evidently, all the drinks were nicely presented and too refreshing for us to kick-start our brunch. With this sort of a pleasant mid- November weather, you’d love to sit on the outside, sip these and feel the bracing sun.
Mezze Platter- I am a sucker for Lebanese food and in Ahmedabad, there are really very few places serving a nice mezze platter. Gladly, mocha has been added to that list. The falafel, pita bread and the dips- hummus, lavash and Mutabal with fresh salad tasted superb.
Next, up Jalapeno Hush Puppies with Sriracha sauce- Yet another crisp and fresh dish, browned evenly was served with an even tastier dip- the sriracha sauce. The sauce was a bit sweeter and so balances well with it.
Masaledar Nimbu Mirch Paneer Tikka- Paneer lovers would love to try this tangy dish. The panner is soft and the flavour gets even enhanced with the bell peppers and of course, the tasty and freshly served coriander chutney on the side.
Amritsari Chhole Kulche- I loved the way it was served. Amritsari Chhole was just too perfect for us: the north Indian taste buds. The gravy was thick and hence finger-licking. The Kulcha was greased and topped with a butter cube, it was soft yet its sides perfectly crisped and cooked. The freshly chopped onion, tomato and cucumber with curd, aam ka achaar and cutting chai just leave you overly satisfied.
And, look at that flatlay. My last Sunday Brunch was indeed a massive treat and oh-a delicious one. I was so satisfied with the way this brunch turned out. When a place has picturesque ambience, well-crafted menu, beautiful seating and exquisite taste in food, what else do you need, right?
Finally, we ended the brunch with this dessert- Mocha Lava Lava. And it was beyond delicious. I bet you’d go “Ummm” in that dramatic melodious way :-p
Well, that brings me to the end of the post. Tempted, aren’t you all? Well, don’t mind, I warned you at the beginning already! So what are you waiting? Go have an amazing weekend, you guys at Mocha, Gandhinagar. Oh did I almost forget to mention? Being a vegetarian, I have only posted about the veg dishes. They also do have a non-veg menu which is a drooling factor for all you non-veg lovers. Hope you have a great time at the place. See you again with another post soonish,
