Hello everyone! How are summers treating you guys? I know, I know… the sweltering weather is just getting on nerves and in this atmosphere, all we feel is to go very casual and basic when heading out somewhere. Choice of fabric and pattern of clothing is vital and so denim is quite not an appropriate choice considering that it is a heavy fabric. I for sure can’t do narrow fit denim in this weather. Also, we are amidst feeling pre-monsoon showers and damp denim is just not a pleasant thought or is it? With flared denim back in trend straight from the 90’s era, one can finally opt for these, be comfy and still breathe given the hot and humid weather. Here’s how a few celebs have brought the flared denim trend back in vogue and from casual styling such as at the Airport to brand endorsement shoots such as at the Cannes Festival, I spotted these Bollywood Celebrities killing it with the Flared denim jeans. Have a look:-
Deepika made her second appearance at Cannes Festival this year and was looking uber chic in a white spaghetti top and blue flared denim. Don’t miss to check the hem of denim- that’s another trending hem pattern nowadays.
Another celebrity spotted at Cannes Festival was Raees actress, Mahira Khan. She wore a white turtleneck with straight denim.
Speaking of fashion, Malaika Arora is never sailing on the wrong boat. She opted to pair her flared side slit denim with a printed white tee and boy, she is making a statement, isn’t she?
While her acting career wasn’t as hit a show, but her fashion game is definitely a winner. Sunil Shetty’s daughter who made her debut in Hero has quite successfully managed to make her way in style and is looked up to for her fashion sense. Athiya was spotted twice nailing her airport looks with blue fared denim. While in one pic, she chose to pair it with a white crop top, in the other she is sporting the knotted loose-tee trend with a semi-formal jacket.
How I Styled My Pair Of Flared Denim
But first, here is why I find this denim to be a bff-
- One can literally pair these with anything- a crop top, a long tee, a loose tee, or even a long slit cotton kurta
- These generally come in high waist pattern which is totally a savior as for those who have belly fat, this denim pattern absorbs all of it making you look fit and confident. Also, for us who shy from showing waist, crop tops can be paired conveniently with this denim pattern.
- These make you walk, sit, move and basically do anything comfortably in this hot weather.
- These are practically available on every online site but the one I am wearing is from luluandsky. They have so many varieties of flared denim patterns but you have to check their size chart because their size measurements are a bit varied to what your regular measurement may be.
- Lastly, these can be worn for all sort of events be it casual, semi-formal, brunch or dinner.
In this look, I have paired two different patterns of inners (one being a spaghetti and over it, I wore an inner from a separate slip dress. It’s an appropriate summer look and extremely light for a day out.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is my ultimate fashion icon and there is no doubt that she may be one of the reasons why temperature has swiftly risen, well if a year old mom can look this hot, what else can I say?
Well, I am not even trying to copy THE BEGUM of B-town, just taking some style inspiration and well, Love the look! While Bebo chose to wear this chic look at the airport with white shoes, I put this look together for a casual dinner with friends so slid into white comfy flats.
Another look inspiration from Anushka Sharma, who again was spotted casually at the Airport wearing a white round neck tee with flared denim, a tote bag, and heels. My version of it is quite similar apart from the fact that I chose exaggerated sleeves and pointed heels.
On a movie day out, I wanted another comfortable look. The same flared denim is here paired with a loose tee. Amped up with a front knotted tee look.
Lastly, for this street style look on a casual shopping day out, I tucked in a long striped tee into this flared denim and the broad belt screams vibes from the 90’s, doesn’t it?
So this is it for this post guys! I totally can live in these jeans forever. I am actually quite regularly wearing this pair with anything and everything because fashion is all about being comfy and at ease. Have any thoughts on this trend?
