When I received a DM on Instagram from the owner of Cafe Scrabble that he wishes to meet and discuss how a food blogger’s meet is organised and how this entire thing actually works, I felt fortunate enough to be approached for organising my first food bloggers meet. So I went to the cafe one day and was pointed to sit and wait at a table while the owner grabbed his pen and diary. I kinda felt nostalgic, tbh as it was the same place and oh, the same table where I celebrated my birthday last year. You definitely must have found a place to be good when you plan to make it your birthday dinner destination and that cafe became even more special for me as exactly after 11 months I was going to organise my first food bloggers meet there.
So, keeping the number restricted to 12-13 bloggers in one meet, we divided them into two sections. One meeting was organised on January 18, 2018, and the other on February 1, 2018.
Speaking of the cafe in general, I feel they never really have been in the limelight that they deserve. As you’d scroll down the post, you’d know exactly why they deserved to be recognised enough!
Their ambience speaks of the name itself. They have a decent ambience, pretty lightings (for great pics, you know right? :-p), nice music and well seating arrangements. Have a look:-
Aptly named scrabble, they have a variety of Board games (and not just limited to the game Scrabble). You’d love to pass your time while waiting for your food to arrive.
How amazing to sip some refreshing drinks amidst playing board games, right?
Special compliments for all these cool and refreshing drinks. Nicely presented and stand true to their respective names in presentation as well as taste.
And oh! These nicely done and lavishly prepared dishes just took my heart away. You know how much we all wish to have our food on the table to be instagrammable. Well, I hands-down found their presentation skills outstanding and one of the best in Ahmedabad.
Greek Balls with Hummus
Presentation, greek salad, balls and hummus everything superb. Crisp and soft at the same time and to balance the taste of hummus, they served us Hot garlic sauce which did the trick.
Which plate would you pick from? Look at those beauties in the centre. And wait for it, this was very delicious. Crisp and baked finely with appropriate toppings.
The base of the Pizza was thin crust and out of the two, I found the three cheese pizza more delicious. :-p
A very peculiar shaped but yum pizza loaded with fillings that burst out with every piece pulled out of it.
Jumping on to the most exciting part- the Main course. Well, I wouldn’t lie that I was a bit hesitant when the owner expressed his wish to have Khichdi on the menu. He was quite obvious of the delicious taste and did he stand true to his words? Of course, he did! These two kinds of khichdi were not just super yummy but also closely similar to homemade khichdi that was served hot with cold curd. Loved every bite to the fullest.
Which one did I like the most? Umm… the creamy corn pesto one. I am very particular about the taste of pasta being a pasta lover myself and this tasted absolutely perfect- sauces tossed well and veggies cooked properly making it worth a try!
I ain’t-a spinach lover but this dish made me one, be it only for that moment. I loved the BBQ sauce that it was served with- it added to the overall taste of the dish. Cafe scrabble, Killing us with their presentation and dressing- once again!
And finally concluding the meet with the most yummilicous part of the meal- The Desserts.
All these desserts were finger licking but if you were to ask me to choose just one- my vote would go to OMG Sunday. *tongue out*
That concludes my post as well. But wait, not concluding it without the group pics of food bloggers from the respective meets-
