I hate being monotonous especially when it comes to Fashion and style. Around two years ago, I started working as a CS in Japanese MNC. With a new job comes new responsibilities, one of which is to look professional. So on my first day at work, I wore the usual and an obvious formal white shirt with black trousers. After that day, I never really took out that shirt from my wardrobe and it was simply lying there beneath another pile of clothes. I guess it happens with everybody. We just buy few clothes for the heck and never think of wearing them again.
So one day I decided to break the monotony. I took out my white shirt and decided to go experimental with it.
This is the first look I created with my white shirt. So this year during Navratri, while every other friend of mine was busy buying their cholis and getting them altered, I decided to amp up my look into something that we call fun, quirky and well, gutsy. I paired this pretty multi-colored Gujarati hand-work lehenga with my white shirt. I draped a gorgeous mirror work dupatta over it and I love the way it turned out. To make the look more ethnic I wore that pretty silver oxidized coin necklace and a pom-pom handcuff and yeah that’s it.
Now let’s talk about the second look I created with my formal white shirt. Are you too a sucker for monotones like I am? If yes, then you definitely should try an all-white or an all-black look for any of your next formal event. But to add a bit of drama, I created a layered look with this Mustard Summer Jacket from Jabong and oh boy, do I love the way it turned? I further went on to accessorize with a sleek black belt and wore basic black heels. Voila!
Now coming to this last look, it’s very formal yet daring. I remember how all my office people had their eyes widened on seeing me come this way to the office but the same people later asked me how and where I shopped this look from. So anyway, I bought this suspender skirt online from Stalk Buy Love. Simply paired this with my official white shirt. I love Caprese Bags especially the tan color since it goes pretty much with every color and well Nude belly shoes to match up the entire look.
So, did you see how I recreated these three looks for different occasions using a plain white formal shirt? It’s pretty simple to experiment and create these looks. Do let me know in the comments, what you think about the looks I created and well, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram.
